A bill has been introduced in the House of Representatives which seeks to quickly and dramatically alter the composition for all current circulating United States coins. The NGC program not only will improve its census over time, but also may drive more business to the Sarasota company in as much as a 50-cent per label discount will be credited to the account of any authorized NGC dealer or Collector Society member

Inconsistencies of PCGS Old Green Holders

In this post I challenge the conventional wisdom that coins slabbed by PCGS between 1986-89, in what we now call “old green holders,” are under-graded and therefore should bring higher prices. For example, the 1881-S Morgan dollar below has a rim mark on the cheek (which almost always assures MS62-63) with scruffs and hairlines from 6 to 9 o’clock on the obverse

22nd Grand Bourse in Monte Carlo Enjoyed by Regulars and Newcomers Alike

This year’s 22nd annual “Numismatique” Monte Carlo Bourse was held this last Sunday, December 7th and, although the weather for this gem on the French Riviera was a bit of a disappointment with a few showers dampening the usually sun-kissed principality, the show certainly lived up to expectations once again! As Monte Carlo also played host to the 127th annual International Olympic Committee’s delegate’s conference from the 8th to the 9th December, some of the delegates arriving early also took the opportunity to visit the Bourse and have a look-around.
