Stack’s Bowers’ May 2020 Hong Kong Auction included bank notes in Session B held on May 4 and Session E held on May 7. There were four notes that I especially want to share with you from Session B; Lot 50027, and Lot 50204 were notes from China, Lot 50319 from Canada and Lot 50324 from French Indo-China.
The first I enjoyed watching was Lot 50027, a Pick A81a, Ta-Ching 10 Dollar ND (1910) note

At the time this article was being written no one yet knew for certain how the coronavirus (officially known as COVID-19) is spread. It was known the disease can be passed person to person, but if the spread is generated through breathing the same air, touching an infected person, touching bank notes the infected person used, or some other mechanism is yet to be learned

I’ve had reason to look into the smallest Series of 1929 issuances from Iowa lately and found that the four smallest were Montezuma (charter 2961) at 125 notes total, Keokuk (14309) at 135, Malvern (8057) at 228 and Macksburg (6852) at 336. I then checked the National Currency Foundation census to see if any survived. I hit goose eggs as I worked through this short list—not a big surprise—until I got to Macksburg
