China: Lunar New Year celebrations observed with new silver coins

The People’s Bank of China have issued new silver coins in celebration of the upcoming Lunar New Year, which will be observed on the 16th February according to the Gregorian (western) calendar. The People’s Bank first launched the Lunar New Year Silver Commemorative Coin Project in 2015 and has proven to be very popular with many Chinese citizens who have given the coins as tokens of celebration or welcome gifts

Taiwan: Year of the Dog greeted with new commemorative and collector coins

The Central Bank of the Republic of Taiwan have announced (16th January) that two collector coins will be issued in celebration of the Lunar New Year and the ushering in of the Year of the Dog. The Lunar New Year arrives on the 18th February 2018, and ends on the 4th February 2019, with the year being dedicated to the Dog
