The Centrale Bank van Aruba has issued (August 4) a new coin celebrating the 40th anniversary of the year the island attained its status as a separate entity within the Kingdom of the Netherlands, gaining its own national flag and anthem in 1976.
Aruba did not become officially independent until January 1, 1986
