The Bank Negara Malaysia will issue commemorative coins in conjunction with the inauguration of His Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong XV Sultan Muhammad V who became the 15th Yang di-Pertuan Agong (head of state) of Malaysia. His Majesty was elected as the 15th Yang di-Pertuan Agong for a five-year term, by the Malay Rulers at the 243rd Conference of Rulers (Special Meeting) at Istana Negara, Kuala Lumpur on the 14th October 2016
