Stack’s Bowers Galleries (SBG) has acquired Carter Numismatics Incorporated (CNI), the auction firm announced May 26. With the acquisition comes the addition of Jason Carter to Stack’s Bowers’ team of numismatic professionals. Carter joins SBG as executive vice president, and he, John Morgan and the CNI team will continue to operate out of the new SBG offices in Tulsa, Okla

Rare Sacagawea Dollar ‘Mule’ Coming to Long Beach
In a press release distributed by Paper Money Guarantee, we have learned that a famous “mule” is coming to Long Beach as one of the consigned pieces.
For those who do not know what a “mule” is in terms of numismatics, it is “when a coin or medal is minted with an obverse and reverse design not normally seen on the same piece.”
The “mule” coming to Long Becah is the Sacagawea dollar mule which bears the obverse of a Washington quarter and the reverse of the Sacagawea dollar
$370,000 Buys 1792 Silver Half Disme

At the conclusion of bidding at Ira & Larry Goldberg Auctioneers’ Pre-Long Beach Auction on June 2, a PCGS graded MS-64 half disme, which was estimated to sell $350,000 sold for $370,000.
Only 1,500 of these coins were struck and it is estimated that less than 200 examples survived
