China: 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic celebrated with new gold and silver collector’s coins

The Bank of the People’s Republic of China has released (10th September) new collector’s coins which are in celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. With the ousting of the Chinese Republic’s government on the 1st October 1949, which took refuge on the island of Formosa (present-day Taiwan), the People’s Republic of China was proclaimed by its founder Mao Tse Tong (1893–1976)

China: 30th anniversary of Industrial Bank’s founding celebrated with new “panda” collector coins

The People’s Bank of China has issued two collector coins on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of one of the country’s first commercial banking entities that introduced customer and international banking to the Chinese public. Founded on the 26th August 1988, as the Fujian Industrial Bank, its function was to introduce the mainland Chinese to the services of a commercial bank for the purpose of deposits, business and personal loans, international settlements, in addition to banking services such as issuing financial bonds to local and national government authorities
